<b>Steve Penna <br><br></b>

<strong>Steve Penna is a lifelong Redwood City resident and has been active in the community his whole lie. He is one of six children born to Louie and Georgia Penna. He served as one of the original members of the Board of Directors of the Redwood City Police Athletic League, and President of the Sequoia High School Education Foundation for the Future, the Service League of San Mateo County - Fundraising, Canada College - Small Business Development - Advisory Board, and the Historical Union Cemetery Association. </strong>

<strong>As Chairman of the efforts to restore Carrington Hall - on the Sequoia High School campus, Penna participated in all aspects of the project and fostered community support to secure the $11.5 million needed to turn the Auditorium into a top notch Performing Arts Center for San Mateo County. </strong>

<strong>Penna has also volunteered countless hours for - the San Mateo County CASA program (Child Advocates) and was name Child Advocate of the Year for San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties in 2002, the Miss Redwood City Scholarship Pageant, City of Redwood City - Senior Affairs Commission, Fair Oaks Neighborhood Association, Redwood City/San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce - Ambassador Chair - Membership Drive Team Leader, St. Pius Youth Ministry, Sequoia YMCA fundraising, Peninsula Celebration Association, St. Raymond&#39;s School (Menlo Park), San Mateo Community College District Foundation, Optimist Club of Redwood City and the Sequoia High School Alumni Association. </strong>

<strong>Working as a self-employed Marketing and Advertising Consultant - Penna works with several local businesses including the San Mateo Daily Journal, Peninsula Media, North Fair Oaks Community Festival, Coldwell Banker and the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and Patch.com. </strong>

<strong>Penna is the Owner and Publisher of the Spectrum Magazine - Redwood City&#39;s monthly magazine. In just six years, it has become the largest distributed publication in Redwood City with over 12,500 monthly readers with almost 2,000 of those paid subscribers. </strong>
