Each teacher is responsible for guiding 15 students or less through their experiences at Mid-Peninsula High.
The curriculum contains the essential core classes required of high school students. It also includes a variety of unique electives such as American Sign Language and Studio Art.
Emphasis is placed on preparing students for a college education, if that is the career path they choose, and providing them with the support necessary for them to successfully transition into the next level of their life. Each student is placed with a Core Teacher who acts as an academic advisor and a life coach.
Mid-Peninsula High School reaches capacity at 140 students, with applications accepted on a rolling basis. Transfer students are accepted.

The foundation is based in Menlo Park and was started by retired teacher Margo McAuliffe, who taught math at Menlo Park Atherton High School. McAuliffe is the Executive Director of Kenya Help, which succeeded in raising the money to build a school there. Today, the foundation continues to raise money for scholarships, a water sistern, and to solarize the school.
