Having worked with Dr. Hernandez, I think she will be an excellent leader for Ravenswood.

1. Question: "Does it matter who wrote it"?
Answer: Of course it does, because:…Read More
1) It is important to give credit to the right person
2) Having studied Wm. Shakespeare's will, available to the public at the British Museum in London, I have concluded that is totally unthinkable to credit Wm. Shakespeare for all these great works published under the pseudonym of "Shakespeare".
2. Question: "Then who wrote it?"
Answer: Edward de Vere, the XVIII Earl of Oxford, who lived in the palace of the Queen Elizabeth ; who studied at Cambridge; who knew Italian language; who travelled to Italy and stayed there for two years translating great Italian novels like "Romeo and Juliet" and many others, and who new intimately the history of the British Royalty. De Vere came to England from France with William the Conqueror in 1066 AD.
3. Question: "Is Prof. Surrock qualified to make the determination?"
Answer: Of course he is. Only a scientist can do it because a scientist can apply the scientific method to solve a problem. I am a Space Research Scientist myself.
4. Question: What is another good source (apart from Prof. Surrock) proving that it was Edward de Vere who wrote Shakespearian plays, sonnets etc.?
Answer: Joseph Sobran, author of the book "Alias Shakespeare"

I wonder if the study included or would expand to include the common use of politics in…Read More assigning/punishing teachers. Redwood City hunted some of the BEST staff members and child advocates my family has ever had. The race matching policy could be considered racist in itself. Who keeps looking at skin color? A good teacher is a good teacher period..

@Walt Bishop. You've made a good point. We do need high-level structure and goals to guide…Read More teachers. However, the problem is not entirely systemic. Public school teachers can change the way they interact with students. They can take what they know about a student and use it to shape the way they approach them. That doesn't cost any money. In fact, some would argue that's good teaching.

Public schools always make the statement "it is for the kids" when confronted with funding…Read More cuts. However, this study reveals "it is how kids" affect public schools. The public school system totally lacks the ability to adapt to the kids. Otherwise, everyone paid to administer and teach public education would be in a constant state of change to meet the diverse ethnic and academic student population.

I'm w/Bob - I had the same experience. Kids not in AP classes had plenty to offer and I learned a…Read More lot from them. I wasn't in all AP classes and it was good to know that I wasn't exemplary at everything - I had some tough learning curves, too. I have seen classes where "gifted" kids only mixed with each other and some of their behavior and social skills were atrocious.

I was a high-achieving student, and I'm a high-achieving adult. In spite of that, I never came to…Read More think of other students as a "void of mediocrity," and still manage to think of them as other people. Perhaps that's because I wasn't encouraged to isolate myself and associate only with the best and the brightest. YMMV.

It seems to me that high achieving students SHOULD be in smaller classes with other high achieving…Read More students. Don't send them into the void of mediocrity by putting the best and brightest in with everyone else. Global competition is increasing and we need to keep up.
