Friends of the Menlo Park Library Host Book Sale

Written by Aldora Lee

At the Menlo Park Library, the Friends of the Library hosted a two-day Book Sale, June 15-16.  All gently used books on sale had been donated to the Friends.  The crowds came.

Before the sale, shoppers eagerly collected at the front door--with a line extending far past the kiosk located near the parking lot.  When the library opened, staff estimated, there were four times as many people waiting at the door as seen on a typical Saturday morning.

The Book Sale was held in the courtyard and in the downstairs meeting room.  The Friends who organized this event indicated that approximately 40 people (Friends of the Library and other volunteers), contributed their time and energy to this project!

On Saturday, books were sold for the marked prices and on Sunday they were half-price or a bargain at $5.00/bag.  All funds raised support Menlo Park Library Programs and Events.
