The 5 Weirdest Things That Happened This Week

A nude congregation. Banning yoga pants. Valentine's Day canceled. Barbie on the cover of Sports Illustrated? It's been quite a week.

News. Sometimes it's just plain weird.

Can someone please tell me why I'm reading about this stupidity here that has absolutely nothing to do with Mt. Airy or Chestnut Hill, even tangentially? God, Patch is so irrelevant.
P Berger February 16, 2014 at 05:28 PM
To above poster... You know that this is the Patch page for Easton PA, Northampton County, right? NOTHING this site post has much to do with anything relevant to Easton since a majority of Patch editors were fired via a conference call a few weeks ago.

Who care where these stories are from. They are just mindless stories for entertainment value on everybody's patch. You all need to lighten up and enjoy. The local stuff is important to all but the "Stories from around....." are elective reading. Stop electing to read them, then you don't have to complain.

Sorry if I insulted the writers of these stories. Keep up the good work, I did not mean to call your stories mindless.

It is not local news anymore. Read the heading, it's what's trending on the internet. I want and like local news, but Patch isn't in the business anymore. Sad

Ron, I understand what you're saying. But I find it insulting that on a website that is supposed to be about local news - and only about local news - these sorts of articles are posted. It seems to go against the spirit of the site. And P Berger - I guess this story was shared among different sites, since I accessed it not from Easton Patch, but from Chestnut Hill-Mt. Airy Patch. The fact that the same article could be posted on any Patch site - any at all - shows that Patch really isn't in the local news business anymore, which makes me think that it's totally irrelevant by now.

It's not the fault of the writers of articles like this, who are just doing their job - it's the fault of Patch's direction. And my heart goes out to anyone who lost their job over this, because that is always awful.

The Patch IS dead folks, unless "it/they" return to local editors and stories which have anything to do with where one lives. It has become a tabloid, run by folks hundreds of mile away who are managing numerous sites.

It's the Huffington Post leftovers. And the Huffington Post is garbage.

I used to like Patch, it had some information that was very useful and many good commenters aswell. But now consolidation has doomed the patch to irrelevance. I guess I will go back to reading the Ross Valley reporter and san rafael Times !
