9/11 Heroes Still Losing Their Lives Years Later: Toxic Dust Claims Another Victim, Family Says

9/11-related illnesses have now taken the lives or more police officers than the terrorist attacks.

Toms River, New Jersey –
A firefighter who was called a hero for his efforts at Ground Zero on Sept. 11, 2001 died last Friday after succumbing to respiratory failure that his family says was the result of toxic dust.

Capt. Mark Lee, 53, died at Community Medical Center, having succumbed to respiratory failure. Lee helped remove rubble from the World Trade Center site after the terrorist attack and his family believes his death is related to toxins that were in the air at the site, News12 reported.

"These guys went over there and did everything they could, and in the process it might have gotten them sick," said Mark Lee, Jr., who is also a firefighter in Jersey City, told the television station.

Lee's story is, sadly, not unique. CBS News recently reported that the number of police officers who have died from 9/11 related illnesses now outnumber those killed in the terrorist attacks.

On the New York State Police Officers' Memorial in Albany, the names of 60 officers killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks are engraved, the number of officers who have died subsequently due to 9/11-related illnesses number 71.

The World Trade Center Health Program was established to provide medical monitoring and treatment for first responders and cleanup workers who were exposed to the toxic dust following 9/11.

In Jersey City, Mark Lee had to leave active duty with the fire department by Christmas 2013 because of his worsening health. Before doing so, Lee organized one last Christmas toy drive.

Lee received numerous awards as a firefighter and as a volunteer for organizations such as the Special Olympics Torch Run and Fireman's Picnic and was a Board Member of the FDJC Distress Fund. For the past 27 years, Mark led the FDJC Christmas Drive. He was named Irish Firefighter of the year in 2011.

Lee leaves behind his wife, Cheryl, and children, Jennifer Bimbo and her husband, Richie, Christina and Mark Jr., and a grandson, plus siblings.

Our government should be ashamed at the way they've treated these guys. I was down there a month after it happened and still couldn't breathe the air. It was totally toxic.

the epa said the dust was safe to breathe the morning of the dustification on two occasions. see the free movie zeitgeist on the internet.realize an aluminum airplane can not dustify concrete and steel.one acre of concrete per floor and concrete encased steel powdered in 10 seconds or less. a 500 degree building fire will not bend steel.a gas truck burned 6 hours in culver city under an overpass and the bridge held which burns much hotter than jet fuel . anyone who believes the phony story of the airplanes dustifying the towers is grossly underinformed to a fault.check these resources : judy woods book "where have the towers gone?" james h. fetzer web site scholars for 911 truth steve quayle , richard allen miller..stewart swerdlow. caravan to midnight with john wells .the police and fire men owe it to their own to investigate the facts and have not done the job . anyone in construction knows the dust is a carcinogen ,even the 1300 architects and engineers that attested in writing that the planes could never dustify the properly built towers. after the dust settled there was not enough debris left to represent the " collapsed " senario . 12 years went by and these people still dont know what they saw , police investigators and all. no one followed the money trail. the authorities are not the truth , the truth is the authority. killing 2 million muslims did no good .read this now as the patch regularly censors my comments due to truth content does not always feel good to rampant puritans who believe in the easter bunny and tooth fairy and killing others is the alternative to learning the truth and set this country on a path of correction.

Don, you're a real piece of trash... I wish you had to spend one week in Saudi Arabia, Iran or any of the other countries we "framed" for 9/11. It is people like you who truly bring this country down to new lows. Every day I wish people like you, Alex Jones and the rest of the Looney Tunes were on one of these four planes. So please, do us all a favor, and GTFO of OUR country. We don't want you here.
