Police Planning Community BBQ in Menlo Park

Local law enforcement officials will host a National Night Out pre-party this week.

Menlo Park Police will host a community barbecue at Burgess Park on Friday.

The event will feature free food, drinks, and good times, according to Menlo Park Police spokesperson Nicole Acker.

“This is a great time to come and get to know your police personnel and get ready for National Night Out, which is on August 6, 2013,” Acker said.

“We want to offer more information to our residents and encourage more residents to set up block parties for that Tuesday,” she said.

In attendance at Friday’s event will be block captains, police personnel, and community volunteers.

The barbecue starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. It is free and open to the public.  Burgess Park is located at 701 Laurel Street in Menlo Park, California.
