Tickets on Sale for Pac 12 Championship Game

The game will be held at 5 p.m. this Friday at Stanford Stadium. First round NCAA volleyball match at 8 p.m.


The Cardinal's 35-17 victory Saturday over UCLA in Pasadena, Calif. clinched the Pac-12 North Division for No. 8 Stanford and its berth in the second annual Pac-12 Football Championship Game.

By virtue of its superior conference record, Stanford (8-1 Pac-12) will play host to Pac-12 South winner UCLA (6-3 Pac-12) at Stanford Stadium on Friday, Nov. 30. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. PT.

This marks the first Pac-12 Football Championship Game appearance for Stanford. The winner on Friday will be crowned the 2012 Pac-12 Champion and receive an invitation to the 2013 Rose Bowl Game on Jan. 1. Stanford last won its conference in 1999, playing in the 2000 Rose Bowl.

Tickets for the Cardinal's first ever post-season game played at Stanford Stadium are available now for sale online here.

"We're really excited that we put ourselves in a position to host the Pac-12 Championship Game," said Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football David Shaw. "I'm looking forward to seeing Stanford Stadium rocking because we will need that advantage to earn our way into the Rose Bowl."

Stanford has won 10 games for the third consecutive season, a first in school history. The Cardinal is aiming for its third consecutive BCS bowl berth.

Stanford will play for its 13th conference championship - first since the expansion to the Pac-12 - on Friday, Nov. 30, with a 5 p.m. PT kickoff of the 2012 Pac-12 Football Championship Game. The contest will be nationally broadcast on FOX.

Menlo-Atherton grad Sam Knapp is a member of Stanford's football team.

The Cardinal women's volleyball team, ranked second in the nation, hosts Jackson State at 8 p.m., also Friday, at Maples Pavilion in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
