Menlo Girls Finish As WBAL Champs

Priory brought their a-game.

The Menlo School girls' soccer team lost 3-1 to host Priory Tuesday in WBAL girls soccer action.

Priory's first goal was scored by senior Mariana Galvan on a 30-yard shot just under the crossbar off an assist from Caitlin Teoman 25 minutes into the match. Galvan scored her 2nd goal 10 minutes into the 2nd half from 12 yards out off another Teoman assist.

Menlo's goal was scored by Junior Lindsay Karle. Karle accurately volleyed in a long cross from Junior Chandler Wickers from give yards out at the 18-minute mark.

Priory struck again when Erin Simpson found Teoman on a cross that was headed in at 25 minutes. Menlo was led by Junior Emma LaPorte, Senior Maya Norman, and Sohpomore Jamie Corley. 

Julia Dressel had four saves and Kelly McConell had three saves, splitting time in goal.

Priory outshot Menlo 9-7.

Menlo finishes as the WBAL Champions and Priory as the runner-ups.
