Menlo Boys' Lacrosse Rocks SHP

Goalie's outstanding performance helps Knights keep Gators at bay.

The Menlo School boys’ lacrosse team knocked off top seed Sacred Heart Prep 8-6 to earn a trip to Saturday’s SCVAL final at Gunn High.

The Knights (12-10) built a 5-1 halftime lead. Steady defense and goalie Luc McNally’s outstanding performance kept the Gators (13-5) at bay. Menlo plays the winner of Wednesday night’s Palo Alto-Menlo-Atherton game.

McNally finished with seven saves.

“We got spectacular play from Luc McNally in goal the entire game,” Menlo coach Nate Calhoun said. “He and the defense held strong after an SHP run in the third and fourth quarters.”
