Menlo-Atherton Boys Soccer Team Advances to CCS Finals
Menlo-Atherton's Varsity Boys Soccer team claimed its place in the CCS finals by beating Serra High School 1-0.
On a night when we all thought it was going to be pouring rain, the half moon shone as Menlo-Atherton's Varsity Boys Soccer team claimed its place in the CCS finals, beating Serra High School 1-0.
The 200 M-A fans gathered at Del Mar High School in San Jose were treated to a fantastic nail biter of a game.
With Will Cabral playing back in the defensive line and the always solid JP Nash as keeper right behind him, M-A had lots of defensive support. Right back Will Lyons had a tremendous first half, feeding long balls into the scoring zone. The only sophmore on the team gave a little preview of who one of the key midfielders will be in 2013: Elvis Abarca Cervantes.
But it was the old timers who put M-A on the scoreboard; Alan Propp with a beautiful feed to the superstar forward Edgardo Molina. Edgardo just caught the far post from an impossible angle.
