Knights Sweep Castilleja—Again

Menlo stter Elisa Merten scattered 30 assists and recorded three aces and eight digs.

The Menlo School volleyball team waltzed past Castilleja 25-21, 25-13, 25-19 in its penultimate match Tuesday.

The Knights improve to 8-1 in West Bay Athletic League-Foothill Division and is 21-10 overall. Menlo plays league leader which entered Tuesday's play at 8-0, on Thursday, Nov. 1 at Menlo.

The Knights served aggressively and forced Castilleja out of its system early.

"We took advantage of our opportunities to score and didn't make many errors," Menlo coach Atlee Hubbard said.

Libero Melissa Cairo had a team-high eight aces and also added 17 digs. Elisa Merten distributed the offense well and finished the match with 30 assists, three aces, and eight digs.

Offensively, both Maddie Huber and Sarah Bruml had nine kills apiece and Morgan Dressel added eight.

Senior night is Thursday against SHP(also with the league title on the line). We will be honoring the efforts of seniors Emma Thygesen, Kendyl Denenberg, and Charlotte Kohlberg.
