Knights Lacrosse Team Nips Los Gatos

Menlo held the lead heading into the final period, and hung on for the win.

The Menlo boys’ lacrosse team edged host Los Gatos 8-7 in a Santa Clara Valley Athletic League match Tuesday.

The Knights held a 6-5 lead entering the final period and held off the Wildcats to improve to 4-3 in league and 6-3 overall.

Wiley Osborne recorded four goals and Pete Foster tallied six groundballs. Nick Schultz got a hat trick and added two assists. Ryan Grzejka also scored and Connor Paterson chipped in an assist. Shuheit Nakata and Jack Ferguson combined to win 11 of 18 face-offs for the Knights. Luc McNally tallied five saves.

Menlo continues league play against Mountain View at 4 p.m. Thursday at home.
