Hard-Hitting Attack Powers Menlo School Volleyball Victory

Maddie Huber had a .700 hitting percentage and dealt five aces Tuesday.

A hard-hitting attack powered the Menlo School volleyball team to a 3-0 non- league victory over visiting Mercy-Burlingame on Tuesday.

The Knights won 25-16, 25-16, 25-13. They play one more non-league match against host Sacred Heart Cathedral at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, before they host the 16-team Chris Chandler Invitational on Saturday.

“I thought our team showed maturity in tonight's match and kept the right amount of focus,” Coach Atlee Hubbard said. “It's important for my whole team to be comfortable playing with each other in a match, and tonight was a great example of that. It will be very helpful midseason and post season when we need that extra support.”

Serving was key against Mercy and Menlo finished with 19 aces, led by Maddie Huber with five and Maddy Frappier with four.
