Carpool to School

All schools in the district are now participating in the Carpool to School software program. Go to carpooltoschool.com and click on “Find School” to get matched with other students who want to bike, walk or carpool together.

Survey time

Once again we are surveying the school communities to measure transportation choices and attitudes. This is a very important part of the Safe Routes program and your help is greatly appreciated! The survey can be found here:  http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/sr2sparent

Around Town

Making El Camino people-friendly

The Menlo Park City Council is considering proposals for a new development along El Camino that would include a crossing for pedestrians and cyclists under the train tracks at Middle Ave. City officials want to hear from you! Attend the council meeting April 16 or write to the council members. Click here http://www.menlopark.org/council/city_council.html for email addresses and the council meeting info.

At Encinal

Park-n-Walk at Roger Reynolds

Those who live too far to walk or bike the whole commute can park at Roger Reynolds Nursery, one half mile from the school, and walk the rest of the way. The nursery is located just on the other side of the railroad tracks on Encinal Avenue and there are plenty of parking spots in the lot and on the street.

At Laurel

Bike event and Earth Day

The Bike Rodeo is the kick-off to Earth Week at Laurel! On Monday the 22nd and Thursday the 25th, get your bike and helmet inspected by professionals from Menlo Velo bike shop and pick up your Earth Week appreciation prize before school!

At Hillview

Hillview students can earn Block H points by volunteering at the bike event at Laurel April 21. Contact Kathy Schrenk at kschrenk@mpcsd.org to sign up for two hours or more.
