Menlo Golf Finishes 4th at Gunn Invitational

Co-Medalist: Andrew Buchanan shot 72 even par

The Menlo Golf team played in the worst conditions of the season fighting 30 mph winds, cold temperatures, and steady rain at the Gunn Invitational featuring 8 teams from the Peninsula area. What began as steady rain in the beginning of the match turned into heavy rain with 6 holes remaining and really impacted play.

Junior Andrew Buchanan shot an even par 72 and tied Senior Kevin Knox of SHP for medalist honors. Buchanan started slowly and was 3 over after 5 holes. Under difficult conditions, Buchanan finished strong going 4 under over the last seven holes to get back to even par.

Senior and Co-captain Will Petit fired a 79 and was just a few strokes over par until succumbing to the drenched hands and wet grips on the last 4 holes.  This was a consistent theme for most of the team. Jackson Dean shot an 80, Ethan Wong shot an 83 and Senior James Huber shot a 91 to round out the scoring.
