Menlo 30, Pinewood 22

Menlo School point guard Lauren Lete rocked the game with 14 points and two blocks against Pinewood.

The Menlo girls’ basketball team staged its best defensive performance of the year in a 30-22 victory over perennial power Pinewood on Friday.

This game was a contrast to Menlo's game Tuesday against Notre Dame-San Jose in which the teams combined for 127 points.

Against Pinewood, Menlo was led by junior guard Lauren Lete, who despite battling the flu, finished with 14 points including three three-pointers, three assists and two blocks. Menlo also got 10 points from Drew Edelman.

Menlo (11-4 overall, 2-0 league) plays at 6 p.m. Tuesday at .
