You’ve Got a Ticket To Ride

City creates "energizer stations" for Bike To Work Day.

Menlo Park volunteers will be operating “energizer stations” around the city Thursday during Bike to Work Day, an annual event.

“Bike To Work Day is a chance to think about how we get from place to place, and try one small but impactful change,” said Mayor Kirsten Keith.

“Cycling to work not only alleviates traffic congestion, but also reduces air pollution and decreases fuel consumption.”

The Bay Area Bicycle Coalition is hosting the event, which is in it’s 18th year.

The volunteers, many of whom are from the city’s public works department, will be handing out tote bags that contain bananas, water and snacks for cyclists who make a pit stop at the energizer stations.

Five stations will be open from 7-9 a.m.
