Welch Road Converts to One-Way

The Stanford University Medical Center Project alters traffic flow starting at 6 p.m. today.

Welch Road converts into a one lane, one-way road between Quarry and Pasteur Drive at 6 p.m. today, a change that will be effective for two years. 

is being altered to accommodate the that will be working on the S in the years to come. The road is one of the main ways to get to the medical center, thus the plan is to widen it and make way for more facilities. 

Temporary cones will be placed on the road today to inhibit the current two-way traffic flow pattern, according to Courtney Lodato, Senior Manager of Public Relations for the SUMC Project. Lodato said permanent K-Rail concrete barriers will replace them on November 7.
