Watch Out! Obama’s Arrival to Close Streets

The president will arrive Thursday, April 4, around 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. shaking up traffic in Atherton.

The POTUS is coming! The POTUS is coming! President Barack Obama will arrive at the home of Liz Simons and Mark Heising for a brunch fundraiser Thursday morning and then trek to the home of Marcia and John Goldman for a lunch fundraiser to support the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

But not without a few street closures along the way.

Various roads will be temporarily closed around the Alameda de las Pulgas and Valparaiso areas, according to Atherton police Lieutenant Joe Wade.

“The Secret Service offers us limited information and provides details up to the last few hours,” Wade said.

However, residents who know the fundraiser hosts say to avoid Walsh Road west of Alameda de las Pulgas and Serrano Drive between Stockbridge Avenue and Selby Lane.

The cheapest tickets to see the president are $1,000 at the Goldman residence.  The most expensive will be the price of brunch at the Heising and Simons residence, with tickets running $32,400 each.
