Update: Council Keeps HSR Lobbyist

City Council voted to keep the High Speed Rail advocate contract alive.

Menlo Park's City Council approved renewing a contract with the lobbying firm Capital Advocates through December , with a final vote of 3-1.

The firm will send a representative to legislative and technical meetings about High Speed Rail for the city at the rate of $5,000 per month plus expenses. It has been working for Menlo Park since 2010.

The council budgeted for a maximum of $50,000 to be spent on this firm's services.

This action came at the recommendation of the City Council’s High Speed Rail subcommittee, which is comprised of Council Members Richard Cline and Kelly Fergusson.
