Judge Seeks Grand Jurors

The San Mateo County Superior Court invites people from the Menlo Park-Atherton community to investigate local issues.

The San Mateo County Superior Court is looking for people to investigate local government activities this year and draft recommendations related to their findings, a Grand Jury Clerk announced on Monday.

The next grand jury term starts on July 1 and ends on June 30, 2014. While elected public officials are not eligible to serve, almost anyone else who lives in the county can.

Interested parties must have lived in San Mateo County for more than one year, be U.S. citizens and 18 years of age or older.  The individuals must have good character and a working knowledge of the English language to be selected for an interview with Judge Lisa Novak.  After an interview, jurors will be randomly selected through a drawing.

The deadline for submitting an application is April 19.  You can find an electronic copy of the application attached to these words. A paper copy can be obtained by writing to the Grand Jury Clerk. The address is 400 County Center, Redwood City, CA 94063.
