PHOTOS: Golden Acorn Awards Gala

The Chamber of Commerce honored extraordinary community members.

The Golden Acorn Awards were held at the Thursday night. 

Ernst and Betty Meissner were given a Golden Acorn award for their commitment to community service. Betty is very involved with the Friends of the Library, while Ernst was integral to the process of installing the lights on the trees on Santa Cruz Ave.

Thomas Rogers, Associate Planner for the city of Menlo Park, was recognized for his dedication to public service. Thomas has been presenting the to each and every commission in town for months. He's also volunteered his time to do outreach at events like the Block Party.

The non-profit organization Rebuilding Together Peninsula, and the toy store, Cheeky Monkey Toys, were also recognized as important contributors to Menlo Park society.

So happy that story about Google killing the Google Reader app was a joke. Google Reader is myRead More favorite way to read the Menlo Park Patch. Without Google Reader, I would miss all the great articles here.
