Menlo Park VA May Get New Shelter

Public meeting tonight about putting land on the market.

in Menlo Park is looking for someone to take charge of a piece of land on the campus, and possibly put a shelter for veterans there.

The VA is putting 1.9 acres of its 96.5-acre campus on the market, and will be holding a public meeting this evening to discuss the details of land use.

A spokesperson for the Menlo Park division said that some of the uses for the land that are being discussed are permanent affordable housing, assisted living housing, and or a retail/ office commercial space to support the viability of one of those housing types.

The VA wants to lease the land for up to 75 years.
