Highest Paid City Employees

In Menlo Park and Atherton, city employees earned notable salaries.

 

According to figures based on 2010 reports on the website, Government Compensation in California, Menlo Park's City Manager Alex McIntyre earns about $234,871, making him the highest paid city employee.

McIntyre has been in the job since March, when he was hired to replace Glen Rojas.

Deputy City Manager Kent Steffens is compensated with about $188,481 and Assistant City Manager Starla Jerome-Robinson makes approximately $187,516.

In Atherton, Interim Public Works Director Michael Kashiwagi has a salary in the range of $168,137, the hihest compensated city employee.

Atherton Finance Director Robert Barron III makes roughly $159,617 and City Manager George Rodericks makes in the range of $156,533.

Police Chief Ed Finch and Building Official Richard Graves are next in line.

If President Barack Obama got his way in terms of allowing tax cuts to expire for the those making $250,000 or more, no city employee in Menlo Park or Atherton would be affected.

The average wage of the 82 or so city employees in Atherton is $61,827 and for the 527 or so in Menlo Park it is $43,161.

In 2010, Atherton claimed 7,554 residents and Menlo Park had 32,185.

So happy that story about Google killing the Google Reader app was a joke. Google Reader is myRead More favorite way to read the Menlo Park Patch. Without Google Reader, I would miss all the great articles here.
