California has experienced large budget shortfalls for the last decade and today faces a $9.2 billion budget gap. Budget solutions affect us all. Take Next 10's Budget Challenge and decide how much should be spent, and on which programs, as well as where the money should come from.

SARAH HENRY, the Program Director for Next 10, will give us a presentation on the California State Budget. At the end of her presentation, we will be issued "clickers" for voting and will design our own Budget with our own priorities! It should be interesting to see how and where we differ from the current Budget.

Next 10 is an independent non-partisan organization to educate, engage and empower Californians in the interest of improving the future economy and quality of life in our state. Sarah Henry has been their Program Director for the past five years. The programs she oversees include efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, governance issues, and the Budget.
