Five Officially in Race for Menlo Park City Council

Deadline for entrance into the race extended.

This election season, Menlo Park residents will be asked to choose who will represent their interests on City Council. Voters will be selecting two individuals from a pool of at least five.

The deadline to submit candidate nomination paperwork to the city clerks' office was 5 p.m. on Friday.

At 5:40 p.m. City Clerk Margaret Roberts told Patch that five people had qualified to be candidates in this year's City Council Election.

In alphabetical order, they are:

  • Firefighter Dave Bragg
  • Parks and Recreation Commissioner Catherine Carlton
  • Housing Commissioner Carolyn Clarke
  • Incumbent Kelly Fergusson
  • Transportation Commissioner Raymond Mueller

Although the period to nominate a candidate closed on Friday at 5 p.m., incumbent Andrew Cohen did not file paperwork to run in November’s election, which extended the deadline to August 15th at 5:30 p.m.

So happy that story about Google killing the Google Reader app was a joke. Google Reader is myRead More favorite way to read the Menlo Park Patch. Without Google Reader, I would miss all the great articles here.
