Menlo Park's five-member City Council is elected by residents and serves as the governing body of the city. Members are elected to four-year terms, and the mayor and vice-mayor are chosen each year from within the group. All council members hold equal sway; the mayor does not wield more power than the rest.
Meetings are generally held on Tuesday evenings. The schedule is available here.
