Congresswoman Speier Endorses County Candidate

Political alliance formed.

Congresswoman Jackie Speier endorsed San San Mateo County Board of Supervisors candidate Guillermo “Memo” Morantes this week.

"We were running on all cylinders before Jackie endorsed," said. "With her endorsement, it's like we got a power-boost."

The candidate is running for the District 4 seat, which is occupied by . Her term concludes this year. If elected, Morantes would represent the communities in Menlo Park, Redwood City, East Palo Alto, and sections of unincorporated Menlo Park during negotiations about county-level public policy.

Speier said one of Morantes’ strengths his familiarity with the county.

“He’s served on The County Board of Education for 12 years, and has been in private industry for over 4 decades, as an educational leader and business leader he knows how to work with people from all backgrounds,” Speier said.

“Memo will work hard at The Board of Supervisors and invest in all of us,” she added.

Morantes is one of on the ballot for this seat.
