Belle Haven Neighborhood: What's important?

The City of Menlo Park is conducting an open community discussion and volunteers are needed to help with the selection of the consultant to lead the community discussions.

Over the past year the Belle Haven neighborhood has experienced significant economic development as well as some changes in land use. During this period the State of California eliminated Redevelopment Agencies.

Menlo Park’s redevelopment area provided about $3 million a year for City services in the Belle Haven community. Amid tight budgets, it’s more important than ever for the City to make sure City funds are being spent on the services that are of the highest priority to the people who are receiving them.

For those reasons, the City of Menlo Park is conducting an open community discussion with stakeholders in the Belle Haven neighborhood to find out what’s most important to the people who live and work there.

Volunteers are needed to help with the selection of the consultant to lead the community discussions that will take place over the next six to eight months.

The consultant selection process will require a review of several lengthy proposals and one or two meetings in early January 2013.

The deadline for volunteer applicants is December 17, 2012 with selection being made by December 20, 2012.

Interested volunteers may obtain an application by emailing Derek Schweigart, Community Services Manager at dsschweigart@menlopark.org or may pick one up at any of the City facilities located in the Belle Haven neighborhood or at the Belle Haven Community School.

For more information on how to get involved with Belle Haven Visioning Process, contact Derek Schweigart, Community Services Manager at (650) 330-2267 or email dsschweigart@menlopark.org .

So happy that story about Google killing the Google Reader app was a joke. Google Reader is myRead More favorite way to read the Menlo Park Patch. Without Google Reader, I would miss all the great articles here.
