Beechwood School Wins Land

Council decision ends years of negotiations.

Menlo Park City Council voted unanimously to sell land to Tuesday night, marking an end to years of negotiations. 

City staff said the roughly three acres of land will be sold to the non profit organization that operates Beechwood for $1,255,000. 

The plan is to replace the portable buildings, which have been used since 1986, with permanent structures.  The city selling the land to for years, an action which would have provided the city an opportunity to increase the amount of within city limits.  

Council will be holding a public hearing on April 17 about the land sale.
