Atheron City Council Seat Remains Open
Seven people applied for the vacant seat on Atherton City Council.
A seat on the Atherton City Council remains open Friday, after councilmembers could not agree upon who they wanted to join them on the dais.
City Councilmembers met on Thursday night, during a special session to vote upon who would fill the seat left open by Jerry Carlson, whose resignation became effective on July 1.
After six of the the candidates fielded questions from councilmembers, three rounds of voting took place. They arrived at a stalemate, which means that the decision must be made during the November 5, 2013 election.
The candidate nomination period opens on July 15, 2013.
