Assemblyman Rich Gordon Honors Flight Attendant

Menlo Park's state Assembly representative bestows San Mateo Central Labor Council Executive Committee Member with honor during LGBT Pride Month Ceremony.

California Assemblyman Rich Gordon, D-21, honored United Airlines attendant Stan Kiino's fight to obtain domestic partner benefits Monday during a ceremony in Sacramento.  

, chair of the California Legislative Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Caucus, said Kiino's accomplishments were emblematic of the struggle for equality throughout the nation. 

“Pride month signifies the fight for justice and equality for all in California and throughout the country,” Assemblyman said.  “It is a pleasure to recognize an individual who stands for these principles and exemplifies them in his day-to-day life.” 

39 years ago, Kiino began work for Pan American Airlines and soon thereafter became a representative for the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA Local 29011. He is also a San Mateo Central Labor Council Executive Committee Member, and the National Co-President for Pride at Work. 

June is , the first state in the country to form an LGBT Caucus of openly LGBT state legislators.

Assemblyman Rich Gordon represents the 21st Assembly District, which includes Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Atherton, Redwood City, San Carlos, Woodside, Portola Valley, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Monte Sereno, Los Gatos and the Almaden Valley of San Jose.
