2012 School Board Race Results for Atherton and Menlo Park

The school districts that serve the Menlo Park-Atherton community will have new leaders next year. 

Four people ran for the two open seats on Ravenswood City School District's governing board; it educates students who live in East Menlo Park and East Palo Alto.

The school district has been challenged with meeting state targets for years.

The new board members will be tasked with creating education policies that foster the intellectual growth of students for the next four years, among many other duties.

Here are the early results of the 2012 election: 

Chavez,  Marco A.    33.46%            2,004 Gomez, Robert          9.52%              570 Serrano, Marilu L.      15.24%              913         41.79%           2,503

16 of 16 precincts reporting. 

 

Two people are running for two open seats on the Las Lomitas Elementary School District Governing Board. Maria Doktorczyk and John Macdonald are terming out. The school district serves students who live in West Menlo Park and Atherton. 

Diane Honda and Bill Steinmetz are running without competition. They will slide into office on November 6, 2012. 

The Menlo Park City School District Board of Education will remain the same. Incumbents Jeff Childs and Maria Hilton ran unchallenged.

The San Mateo County Elections office must certify the votes and deem them official.
