Man Fatally Shot in East Palo Alto

Police initially couldn't find the victim.

An East Palo Alto man was fatally shot Sunday in the 2300 block of Glen Way.

The Police Department’s Shotspotter tool deployed officers to the scene of the shooting at about 1 p.m. Police say that when they arrived, they were not able to find a victim, although they did find evidence that someone had been shot. They left.

Three hours later, police were again called to the home with a report of “a man down.”

Officers found Edmund Beverly, 30, deceased at the scene. Police say that officers had already checked the area.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to call East Palo Alto Police at 650-321-1112.
