Police Arrest 26-Year-Old Woman on Suspicion of Robbing Two Banks

By Bay City News:

A 26-year-old woman who is suspected of robbing two banks in Menlo Park last year was arrested on Wednesday, police said.

Hayward resident Jasmine Sahib is believed to be responsible for robbing a Bank of the West on Oct. 29, 2013 and a U.S. Bank on Nov. 8, 2013. Both bank branches are located in downtown Menlo Park, according to police.

During the first robbery, Sahib allegedly handed a note to a teller claiming that she had a gun and to hand over cash, police said. The same tactic was used during the second robbery, and investigators determined that the suspect was likely the same woman.

No one was injured during either robbery, according to police.

With assistance from the FBI, police were able to identify Sahib as the robbery suspect.

Information led investigators to track down Sahib, who was arrested on Wednesday and booked into the San Mateo County Jail, police said. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Menlo Park police at (650) 330-6300.
