One Killed in East Palo Alto Shooting

A 24-year-old man was fatally wounded.

A 24-year-old man was killed and a second victim was injured in a shooting in East Palo Alto Monday afternoon, police said.

Police received a ShotSpotter activation alerting them to the shooting in the 2600 block of Illinois Street at 1:47 p.m. Officers found the victim, identified as Jonathan Alcazar of East Palo Alto, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds and remains in critical condition tonight, police said.

No suspects have been identified in the shooting and police have not determined the motive. Anyone with information about the shooting has been asked to call East Palo Alto police at (650) 321-1112.
