NRA Takes Down Facebook Page

National Rifle Association also stops tweeting.

A day after reaching 1.7 million likes, the National Rile Association took down its Facebook page.  The Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings inspired the shutdown, according to NRA fans on Facebook and Twitter.

The page disappeared about 10 hours after the tragedy in Connecticut, according to fans.

An NRA spokesperson has not responded to requests to discuss the matter.   The association can reactivate its page within 30 days, without losing data, according to Facebook.
