Native American Remains Unearthed in Menlo Park

Crews found human remains.

Construction crews unearthed two human skulls Tuesday afternoon, while breaking concrete.

They were working on laying a new foundation in the 1000 block of Hamilton Avenue when they discovered the human remains. Detectives in the Menlo Park Police Department and the San Mateo County Coroner’s office were called in to investigate.

They found two human skulls and bone fragments that they determined were long-deceased Native Americans, said Nicole Acker, Menlo Park Police spokesperson.

They assume this is true given the proximity to a Native American burial site near the construction location.  The bones will be given to the Native American Historical society.

So happy that story about Google killing the Google Reader app was a joke. Google Reader is myRead More favorite way to read the Menlo Park Patch. Without Google Reader, I would miss all the great articles here.
