Mongolian BBQ in Menlo Park Burgled

San Jose man found on the scene in suspicious circumstances, according to Menlo Park Police.

A man from San Jose was arrested Thursday for breaking into Mongolian BBQ restaurant in Menlo Park. 

Officers arrived at about 12:35 a.m. and found Max Perez, 55, leaving the restaurant, according to Sergeant Ed Soares.  Officers arrested him.  During a search of the restaurant, law enforcement officials discovered a large amount of cash was stolen from the BBQ.  Police say they found this cash and miscellaneous items from the store in his possession.  

Police charged him with “being in possession of an item commonly use to ingest controlled substances” and a hypodermic needle. Perez was booked into San Mateo County Jail on charges of burglary, being under the influence of a controlled substances, and possession of narcotics.

Mongolian BBQ is located at 700 El Camino Real in Menlo Park.
