"A very alert citizen" who recognized her from local news reports contacted San Jose police who reunited her with her family members, said San Jose police officer spokesman Albert Morales in a media advisory.
Medical personnel arrived and as precaution rendered first
aid, Morales said, adding that Tran's family is grateful to everyone who assisted in looking for the woman.
Area law enforcement are seeking the public's help in finding a missing elderly Vietnamese woman who disappeared from her San Jose residence Sunday afternoon.
According to San Jose police, the woman is identified as Vuong "Ma" Tran, 83, and was last seen at her home near Capitol Avenue and Interstate Highway 680.
According to the missing-person flier sent to the media by the San Jose Police Department, Tran is described at being 5-foot tall, weighing 100 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair.
She only speaks Vietnamese and was last seen wearing a plain brown sweatshirt with a hood, black plants and eyeglasses. Before disappearing, she stated she was going for a walk at a nearby park.
According to her family, Tran has no diagnosed mental deficiencies, however, she recently began suffering from short-term memory loss and suffers from diabetes.
