Menlo Park Police Reminds Public Not To Light Things on Fire

Fireworks are illegal in the City of Menlo Park.

The Menlo Park Police Department broadcast a reminder Tuesday that all fireworks and celebratory gunfire are illegal within city borders.

Gunshots to celebrate the Fourth of July will not be tolerated, a police spokesperson said.

“When officers locate the persons using fireworks and firearms...they may warn, cite, or arrest any subjects suspected of being in possession of and/or igniting fireworks and discharging guns,” said Nicole Acker, Menlo Park Police spokesperson.

“Officers may also confiscate fireworks as evidence,” Acker said.

Families need not fear an explosion-free Fourth of July.

Fireworks can be watched down El Camino Real in Redwood City.  For more information, take a look at this article on our neighbor Patch.
