Menlo Park Police Investigating Drive-By Shooting

Two men were injured in a drive-by shooting on Hamilton Avenue in Menlo Park.

Menlo Park Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that injured two people on Hamilton Avenue in Menlo Park, California.

Officers were alerted to reports of gunshots fired at 10:15 p.m. on June 22, according to police.  When they arrived, they found evidence that a shooting had taken place in the 400 block of Hamilton Avenue.

“An extensive search of the area failed to locate any victims or cooperative witnesses to the shooting,” Sergeant Kevin Paugh said in a statement.

Police called nearby hospitals and discovered that two wounded men, who are in their 20s, had walked to the hospital to get their wounds treated.

The men had been sitting in the driveway when a car drove in front of the residence.  A person inside the vehicle shot at them multiple times, wounding them in the process, and then drove away.  The vehicle was described as a light, possibly silver, sport utility vehicle.  It is not known how many people were inside the vehicle.  A description of the shooter was not available.

Menlo Park Police ask that anyone with information about the incident call detectives at (650) 330-6300.  Anonymous tips can be left at (650) 330-6395.

The men’s injuries were not life threatening.
