Menlo Park Police Chief Moving to Utah

Police force expect to have new leader soon.

Menlo Park Police announced Thursday that Chief Bryan Roberts has accepted a job offer in Utah. 

“It was an agonizing decision to leave Menlo Park,” said.  “The department is full of committed, professional and talented people.  We achieved many things in the past two years and I was anxious to watch the department achieve even more,” he added.

said a lot of his family lives near Salt Lake City, which influenced his decision to look for a job there.  had been the Menlo Park Chief of Police since September 2010.  He will be moving to Draper City, Utah in the very near future to start his new job on August 6 as the town’s Police Chief.  Draper City is between Provo and Salt Lake City.

Menlo Park is searching the U.S. for a new police chief to take his place.  

City Manager Alex D. McIntyre will be naming an interim police chief by the end of the month.

“Bryan did great work for both the department and the community and he will be greatly missed,” McIntyre said.
