Jail time is on the horizon for two Menlo Park gang members who together stole over $12,000 in items from a home in March.
Victor Eugene Bell, 19, Rafael Ramirez, 20, were expected in court Wednesday morning for a pre-sentencing hearing after pleading no contest to felony burglary and admitting to being Norteño gang members.
According to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office, Bell, Ramirez, and a 16-year-old boy (also in the gang) took jewelry, cash, an Xbox and an iPad. At 11:30 that night, they were pulled over by police on Willow Road. Police smelled and saw marijuana in the car along with the stolen property.
Because Bell was the lookout during the crime, he faces one year in jail. Ramirez is looking at up to two years in prison. Bell is out of custody on $50,000 bail bond, while Ramirez has remained behind bars on $100,000 bail.
