Crime Blotter: Man Arrested on Suspicion of Firing a Gun Into an Occupied Home

The following information was supplied by the Menlo Park Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Here are the crimes that took place in Menlo Park this past week:

 

Monday

2:14 a.m., Van Buren Road and Sonoma Place:  Police recovered a stolen, but towed because they could not contact the registered owner.

8:53 a.m., 1200 block of El Camino Real  An unknown suspect stole a wallet from someone who was waiting for a bus.

10:26 a.m., El Camino Real and Santa Cruz Avenue:  Police cited Robyn Spitz, 51, a Redwood City resident, on suspicion of driving with a suspended or revoked license.

2:39 p.m., 700 block of Menlo Avenue:  A juvenile was reportedly flashing cars and people as they went by.

4:09 p.m., Chilco Street and Constitution Drive: Police arrested Arif Mir, 45, a Foster City resident, on suspicion of trespassing.

8:43 p.m., 100 block of Independence Drive:  A juvenile was contacted by police and found to have a no-bail warrant for a past resisting arrest charge.

 

Tuesday

12 a.m., 1300 block of Hillview Place: An unknown suspect stole a leaf blower from the back of a work truck while it was parked. Estimated price was $527.12.

12:48 p.m., 1300 block of Crane Street:  Police took a case on possible identity theft.

4:41 p.m., 600 block of Alma Street:  Roberto Mendoza, 21, an East Palo Alto resident, was cited and released on suspicion of driving with a suspended or revoked license.

 

Wednesday

2:47 a.m., 400 block of Waverley Street:  Clinton Harris, 43, an East Palo Alto resident, was arrested on suspicion of making threats to someone.

4:37 a.m., 900 block of Middle Avenue:  An unknown suspect hit several parked cars and fled the scene.

5:12 a.m., 1400 block of Plumas Avenue:  Javas Minor, 34, a Menlo Park resident, was arrest and booked on suspicion of being drunk in public.

7:34 a.m., U.S. Highway 101 and Marsh Road:  Police cited and released Jimmy Ramirez, 22, a Redwood City resident, on suspicion of possessing marijuana.

4:56 p.m., V700 block of Laurel Street:  Police took a case for possible assault.

10:22 p.m., Bay Road and Gloria Way:  Saul Sanchez, 23, an East Palo Alto resident, was arrested and booked on suspicion of possessing prohibited weaponry.

 

Thursday

6:44 a.m., 1300 block of Willow Road:  Police arrested Frank Lampkin, 57, on suspicion of petty theft.

11:22 a.m., 400 block of Pope Street:  A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

6:03 p.m., Van Buren Road and Sonoma Place:  Police arrested Martin Madriz, 23, a Menlo Park, on suspicion of firing a gun.

8:16 p.m., 3700 block of Haven Avenue:  Police arrested Jeong Jin, a Palo Alto resident, on suspicion of drunken driving.

9:28 p.m., 500 block of Bell Street:  Jacquelyn Wells, 50, a Redwood City resident, was arrested and booked on a $7,500 warrant.

 

Friday

10:04 a.m., first block of Terminal Avenue: An unknown suspect broke into three storage units and stole property.

4:23 p.m., 700 block of Santa Cruz:  Police towed a car that was parked in a no-parking zone.

8:13 p.m., 432 Waverley Street:  Police cited and released Gaye Strange, 49, on a $5,000 warrant for a past drunken driving charge.

 

Saturday

3:06 a.m., 1200 block of Henderson:  Police detained two women for causing a physical altercation and then cited Jose Mendoza, 23, on suspicion of evading a police officer.

4:03 a.m., 400 block of Ivy Drive:  Police arrested and booked Critian Ayala, 21, on suspicion of shooting at an occupied home.

12:50 p.m., Avy Avenue and Orange Avenue:  Andre Perez, 23, a San Jose resident, was cited and released on a $1,544 outside warrant out of Alameda County.

2:14 a.m., Van Buren Road and Sonoma Place:  Police recovered a stolen, but towed because they could not contact the registered owner.

 

Sunday

9:40 a.m., Unknown Location:  Police arrested Jaime Valencia, 21, a Redwood City resident, on suspicion of causing an accident while drinking and driving.

2:35 p.m., University Drive and Santa Cruz Avenue:  Sansan Sun, 65, a San Carlos resident, was arrested on suspicion of petty theft.

7:18 p.m., first block of Coleman Place:  An unknown suspect stole a registration tab.
