Gangsters Who Beat Toddler with Gun Magazine Face Trial

Cellphone videos Wilbert Ard and Dwane Henry threatening to shoot a young boy and his father over gang affiliation.

Two Menlo Park parolees are in San Mateo County Superior Court Tuesday facing serious gang-related charges.

The trial of Wilbert Ard, 27, and Dwayne Anthony Henry, 20, was set to begin at 8:45 a.m.. Ard and Henry are charged with assault with a deadly weapon, participation in a street gang and illegal possession of a firearm, among other counts.

According to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office, the two men were arrested earlier this year when it was found that they were associating with each other, which was a violation of their probation and parole.

After the arrest, police found a video on Ard's cell phone that showed Ard and Henry pushing a young boy (between 3- and 5-years-old) in the head with a loaded 30-round handgun magazine, "while telling him they were going to shoot him and his father," (a rival gang member), DA's Office notes reveal.

Both Ard and Henry have been held on $250,000 bail since their arrest.
