Drive-by Shooting Hits Man in Leg

Victimization took place by the fire station in East Palo Alto.

A man was shot in the leg in a drive-by shooting in East Palo Alto on Monday afternoon, police said.

Police responded to reports of a gunshot victim outside of the Menlo Park Fire Station at 2290 University Avenue shortly after 5 p.m.

The 20-year-old victim, an East Palo Alto resident, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his calf. He was transported to a hospital to be treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

The man had been shot by someone in a passing vehicle and walked to the Menlo Park Fire Station after he was shot, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting has been asked to contact East Palo Alto police at (650) 321-1112.
