Update: Fatality Was Caltrain's 13th This Year

Caltrain hits and kills pedestrian.

Update: The tracks have been reopened in Menlo Park and service has returned to normal.

The Monday night collision that killed a pedestrian occurred north of Encinal Avenue in Menlo Park, according to Caltrain.

It was the agency's 13th fatality this year, the spokeswoman said.

Bay City News —  All Caltrain trains are stopped in both directions at Menlo Park after a southbound train struck a pedestrian there Monday afternoon, according to a Caltrain spokeswoman.

Train 258 struck a pedestrian at 4:22 p.m., according to Jayme Ackemann. All trains are holding in both directions while police respond to the scene.

According to Caltrain's Twitter feed, the person who was struck was killed. Use the gray scroll bar in the box above to read the latest updated from Caltrain.
