What Would You Like to See in These Empty Storefronts?

Multiple locations on Santa Cruz Avenue are empty. What businesses would you like to see there?

Many retail spaces on Santa Cruz stand empty today. Near them you'll find businesses such as Cheeky Monkey Toys, Walgreens, and The Pet Place.

If you could choose, what kind of businesses would you like in these locations? Tell us in the comments.

Restaurants or cafes to bring people downtown in the evenings.

I miss reclaim and Boutique 4. We need a knitting and/or sewing store. And kids' consignment would be awesome!

I hear you. Would you like more places with outdoor seating like Borrone, or shops like Peet's with wifi?

Clothing stores have a lot of competition on that street. I haven't seen a kids' consignment store.

Restaurants with outdoor seating. Reclaim some of the parking spots to have more room. Downtown looks dead any night after 7PM :-(

I hear this from a lot of people, Patrick. It might be hard to get businesses to give up parking spots. A few are opening up soon, Bob.

I would suggest a store that sells finely made historically accurate dolls that will teach children about history. Either that or a Souper Cracker restaurant; the fastest growing non-poultry, non-coffee franchise in California.
